Immigration Canada

Foreign students must meet certain requirements when applying for study permits. Officers look at many factors before deciding whether an applicant qualifies for a study permit. If you wish to study in Canada, you must:

a) present a letter of acceptance from the educational institution where you intend to study;

b) demonstrate that you are able to:
pay the tuition fees for the course or program of studies that you intend to pursue;
financially support yourself and any family members who are with you during your period of study;
cover the transportation cost for yourself and any family members to and from Canada;

c) pass a CIC medical examination, if required

In addition, you must satisfy the officer that:
You are not inadmissible to Canada;
You will leave Canada at the end of the period that you are allowed to stay.
If you are applying to study in Quebec, you will also need a Certificat d'acceptation du Québec (Quebec Certificate of Acceptance, or CAQ) issued by the Ministère des Relations avec les citoyens et de l'Immigration (MRCI)."Immigration Canada"
